Call for Model : WoW or Fantasy cosplayer.

Humm.

I need a WoW or other Fantasy mmorpg costumer, to pose for a random goofy little photo.  This is not for pay or anything serious, just a funny little thought that just crossed my head.

I also need an office location, preferably a cubicle of some sort.

*rubs hands together and snickers*

Where’s that Time Machine?

… not enough hours in the day.  Preparations for TAF are behind schedule (sorry Nik and others waiting on files), my real job is behind schedule (I’m wearing about 10 hats at work.  My head has been flattened.), and I’m scrambling to try and keep up with obligations (both real and imagined.)

In short, its the usual with me right now.  Nothing compared to the very real and significant stressors that some of my friends are feeling.  Nonetheless I’ve got my hands on too many things as always, and need to take time to relax and be a person instead of “the guy machine who gets shit done.”

— insert wahbulance intermission here —

Went out on badly needed unwind-dinner yesterday, stuffed silly, and the -itis stole me away for a full night’s sleep.

Have found myself oddly addicted to Final Fantasy Chocobo Chronicles on the DS during my commute.  Its child-like but the mini-games are decent, and a good way to idle away some time.  Have also been doing alot of SEGA Casino Craps.   My commute is long and filled with trivial pursuits.

Read three books while cooking and doing chores this past weekend, in a typical crazy mix it was the latest Myth Inc. book by Asprin and Nye,  an alternate history book by Harry Turtledove, and the latest in the Darkwar trilogy by Feist.  Next up on the list is more pop fantasy and sci-fi, I’ve got an E.E. Knight book (Valentine series) and the latest Drizzt book (Terry thought to himself that these books and monologues never end) to tear through.   After that, I get back to the Legends of King Arthur and when I brace myself to do it, the entire set of Sherlock Holmes mysteries.  … Makes me crave a little bit of classic fiction tho — Three Musketeers anyone?

— end wahbulance intermission —

Anyhow, chocolate covered altoids and the lack of time to do anything but panic about my lack of time have set me back on the “ball of blubber” route.  That’s one thing that should reverse in Tokyo — I lost 10 lbs while out there last time from all the walking.

…. mmmmmmm moss burger…

Mission Accomplished - Wii now have Whee.

Well, last night after work I jetted over to the Times Square Toys R Us and picked up a Wii.  It was not hard — they have a healthy stock and they’re still throttling down to 1 per guest.  So, I grabbed mine and prepared to walk home. Then I decided to take care of a requested Christmas order, and picked up a second at the Nintendo Store.  The representative there informed me that the Nintendo Store is having no problem staying in stock.

So, if you are like me and haven’t gotten a Wii, and want to get a Wii, and for some reason can’t find a Wii..  Let me know and I’ll grab one for you.

—-

As for the Wii itself?  Well, I’ll need to buy some supplies before I can go online, and I have nothing but the base unit.  However, my arms are tired from flailing around like an idiot, and my room is so damned tiny, I’m not far enough from the screen for it to register that well so everything’s slightly “off”.   Damned city apartments.. >_<;

And now Wii speak of something completely different.

Alright, so now for something completely different.

I spent all weekend running chores and most of the weekend without a computer.  I started a complete hard drive integrity test that took all weekend to run.  (That’s some deep burn testing!)   Consequently I also got alot of reading done.

I’ve decided I’m going to buy a Wii for myself.. (and for some christmas shopping too) — when you spend too much time checking out deals and stuff, its a sign I should just get it and stop waffling about it.

Sooooo - what do you folks think I should get as initial games?   Remember I tend to prefer strategic or tactical games, action games are not as strong an interest for me.  (which is amusing given the nature of the controller…  And the fact that I totally sucked at most of the games I played in Toronto and Baltimore…)

Oh.. and of course I have to ask…  Poker on the wii, does it exist?  ;)

Broom Game Controller… the hell??!

bruher.jpgRight, so TGS is going on, and I wish I could go. Not because I’m a rabid gamer, but just because I want to see what sort of goofy shit comes up this year. Thanks to Gizmodo, something that made me go “the HELL?” almost immediately. I have to agree with them, you’d better be a good looking witchy sort or you’re going to look just plain dumb on this thing.

.. and even then you’ll probably look dumb. Just dumb and sexy.

Tgs2007: Broom Game Controller for Harry Potter Wannabes - Gizmodo

**edit** And now Gizmodo has managed to get their hands on video of the game in action.

Murphy, why must you spite me so?

Broken DS Hinge

… My DS just broke. Dead. The hinge just went *pop*..

I’d noticed some cracking along the edge but I didn’t know if it was an actual crack or just a design flaw. Nope. It was a crack. AUGH. Its still in warranty, hopefully I can get Nintendo to repair it for free. :(

Bling out your DS..

A fresh link thanks to Gizmodo (who thanks yet another person/blog for bringing it to THEIR attention).   This is some hot chrome action for your DS.

Metal Mario: Magnum Chrome, DS Bling - Gizmodo

Speaking of the DS, I have to admit that the DS has fully taken my soul when it comes to gaming platform.  With the added ability to watch videos on the road, I couldn’t be happier.  ..  well, okay I could — if I could get MORE storage capacity and a sexy blonde to massage my shoulders while I play on the train, I’d be even happier.   But while the former will eventually happen, the latter is quite unlikely.  ;P
