Burning Ice (Concept Test)

Hey Alex, here’s your request and dedication. Mostly. This is just a concept photo and test, to make sure I can do this. Now that I know it works, I have some more things to prepare, then I’ll shot this better with an SLR and some lighting work to light up the ice base, etc.
No compositing, only a little bit of curves adjustments in Photoshop. That is burning alcohol in an ice bowl.

Okay – so last week I threw up a Photo Meme of sorts. The goal was for people to assign me themes to take photos of. Interpretation would be up to me, and I’ll post photos as I shoot them. The catch is, if I post, I want a photo response in kind! (In theme or in response.

This single Sakura flower had fallen in the rain near my workplace. There was a certain feel to this that I had to try and capture as quickly as possible.
Color selection initially done on the G9 — tweaked and tuned a little in post processing.
