Okay so a friend of mine was sharing something from an experience at F.I.T.
I won’t talk about the fashion show – because really I don’t have enough knowledge of the situtation to really judge the photos I saw.
Well no, I can say this much. Both as a graphic designer and as a garment factory brat.. I was not impressed. I saw some stuff that was excellent, but I saw some decisions that just had me scratching my head thinking “what the fuck?”
And the few of you readers who know about it will understand when I just say “What was with the hat??!”
Anyway.
That’s not what I wanted to say.
All I wanted to say was… Look at this photo. Does it not have, “Outrageous Fashion Industry Fake” written all over it? I mean. …. WHAT THE?!?!?!!?
Afraid of heights anyone?
Watch out for that first step, its a doozy!
Jackie Chans China comments prompt backlash AP – Yahoo Movies
“I’m not sure if it’s good to have freedom or not,” Chan said Saturday. “I’m gradually beginning to feel that we Chinese need to be controlled. If we’re not being controlled, we’ll just do what we want.” — Jackie Chan
Okay — while I think some of this could be out of context information, and I can see some potential translation issues… The next statement really is just begging for an outcry from Hong Kong and Taiwan..
He went on to say that freedoms in Hong Kong and Taiwan made those societies “chaotic.”
*headpalm* Way to go Jackie. You already managed to alienate a bunch of the US and foreign audience with some of your recent comments, and now you hammer at the Hong Kong and Taiwan audience as well? Are you *trying* to render yourself a Mainland only movie star?
One of Jackie’s autobiographies (with help of a ghost writer) has him admitting that he can be a bit of a jerk. He also flips to the bottle sometimes. His recent behavior has really scrubbed off some of my interest in him as a movie producer and star.. -_-;;
So, I think one weekend or even weekday, it will be time to roll the dice. Who wants in? XD
Went to parent’s house last night, broke down all of my CD/DVD library, sorted out a ton of items that are for sale/giveaway, and broke down my media racks.. Then somewhere along the line got tired enough and crashed..
… then woke up and promptly threw my back out moving heavy books. Staggered to Chinatown, met up with my mom, and toured some appliance places. Mmmm, electronics. I need me a rice cooker.. Or do I need an electronic water pot? Or maybe just a thermos heat cooker? Heck, whatever it is I can get it in chinatown..
Why am I posting all this? I haven’t a clue. I’ll put the rest under a cut.
