Gizmodo Crosspost : Canon EOS Rebel T1i — And they spit in Nikon’s eye again…

Gizmodo: Canon EOS Rebel T1i First Hands On: 50Ds Sensor, 1080p Vids, $899

Damn.  Ever since I sold my 20D, I’ve been craving a proper SLR.  I haven’t wanted to go with the Rebel for a long while, mostly because of the lighter body weight, downgraded viewfinder, and gimped processor.

However, with the release of this unit, they just might win me over again, at least as a temporary camera until I can afford the 5Dii…   The latest Rebel line camera will have the 50D’s processor, and it’ll support 720p 30fps shooting, along with 1080p 20fps shooting.  Not as good as the 5Dii, but damned sweet nonetheless.

They’ll probably push the noise sensitivity to match Nikon’s latest releases as well.

Daymmmmmmn.

The nice thing about being part of a family full of seamstresses – plenty of spare fabric to make your own curtains and wall hangings!

FOXNews.com – Bat Hitches Ride to Space on Shuttle Discovery – Science News | Science & Technology | Technology News

And I quote…

Coincidentally, an astronaut aboard that flight, Koichi Wakata of Japan, also flew on Discovery this week, making him the first spaceflyer to share two rides with bats. Discovery’s STS-119 mission is headed to the International Space Station to drop off the final segment of the lab’s backbone truss and set of solar array panels.

How long till we have spacebat mascots and a space-faring bat anime?  ^_^

Photography: Teens Capture Amazing Shots 20 Miles from Earths Surface With a Balloon

Yes, you read that right.  This kind of thing always triggers my “Oh shit I’ve gotta do try that” bug.  Time to buy some latex balloons, kite string, and an inexpensive camera to rig and shoot.  XD

(reminds me of kite photography too)

Photopost : Vegas Helicopter Ride

I’m still pretty much exhausted, so just a quick post.

Yes, I really did go up in one of the tour helicopters.  It was alot of fun, even if I felt the slight queasiness of motion sickness for the rest of the day…

Anyway, more when I’m rested and not packing for the move.   Now that I’m back its time to actually move my stuff to the new apartment.  I’m committed to being settled in at least most of the way by my birthday!  *shakes fist*
