Photopost : City at a Glance

This is my city. Concrete development, sometimes left to decay, often with nature finding little patches to grow and sneak back in. This sort of contrast is what I love to see.

Humm. Monday started at 1AM. I knocked over a full cup of water sideways into THREE active computers, my laptop and boh primary and seconday PC’s.
Woke up late.
Back spasmed hard enough to interfere with breathing.
Almost missed train.
DID miss shuttle bus.
Back still spasming.
AUGH!

When the heat kicks up, the entire feel of the city changes. I shut down. I freely admit it — I’ve never been one for the heat and humidity that’s prevalent right about now.
Anyhow, that comment really is just an excuse to post this. Ahhhh, carts serving this stuff up are on every other street corner during the summer — and they’re the best sign that I’m home any time I travel. I remember when this, and shaved ice drinks, were served to us through a hole cut in the chain link fence of our playground in elementary school.

This weekend has been iffy, much of what I need to get done didn’t get done. *sigh* Lots to do, little time to do it, and too many distractions. Story of my (and alot of people’s) lives eh?

Happy July 4th people!
Taking the train home at 2:30AM. Sleepy. Kinda my constant expression these days, sleepy.
Hair’s cut short now. Shaved off the starter goatee this morning –it just didn’t look right when I was staring in the mirror. Might switch to something else. Or go clean for a little while.
1. There really is an Emo-doc that runs around in my head writing poetry, dressing all in black because it expresses my inner despair, and wants to just stand in the rain and stare. However, I keep him locked up because frankly, he’s quite annoying.
2. My hair has been shorn for the summer. However, I think I’m growing back the evil-doc goatee. I think I’ve grown fond of how I look with it. This may change the next time I am in the shower and too lazy to trim properly. Or the next time I get soup retention.
3. Random thought - growing older means having to be the one telling yourself, “No, you may not read another chapter, put the book away.”
4. Final Fantasy Tactics A2 is out. Damn you Danny Hong. I might have continued to have my nap time on the train if you hadn’t told me.
5. The time remaining until Otakon can be counted in weeks. Oh shit, that’s no moon, that’s an ANIME CONVENTION!
6. Day job is full of day, and full of job. I’m not sure where its going at this point, but I know its damned busy.
7. WALL-E is full of cute. As in, tooth aching, body snatching, world domination level cute. If I had a girlfriend I’d probably be seeing it again. Hell, I may see it again anyway. It Is That Cute. (I can has Eve now?)
8. For a brief moment, I thought I’d give up caffeine. Then I took another sip and my brain picked up another frequency.
9. Photo have been taken but not posted this week, due to a lack of what is called spare time. There’s plenty of time, oh yes. But to spare? That’s a different story. Cycles are being occupied man. Too many cycles…
10. I almost wish I was out at AX right now. I’ve never been out there. Then I think about my finances, my workload, the fact that its in LA, and my desire for an apartment in the next year. And the wish blows away like smoke.
11. The same goes for a new camera.
12. I’m not sure what the point of this post was. I only know that I had to tell myself to put the book down and no one would get hurt before I sat down.
13. Taquitos.
Very busy.
Sometimes my brain gets caught in a tiny little emo loop, where my thoughts chase themselves around in circles.
People don’t see this too often - like many asians I’m decent at hiding them. Damned stoicism.
In geek terms, these loops don’t disable me, but they take up precious processing cycles.
I’m got some background loops going right now.
