As I sit here stressed out and chugging through emails at work, I think of the things I have to look forward to…
Yeah, so obviously I’ve got apartment on the mind. I don’t think that’s going to stop until I’m in there and settled. :p
I’ve made it through the first stage of reviews. I now wait three to four weeks to verify everything else.
Most of my initial fears about being eligible for the apartment have been settled. That doesn’t bar possible last minute “Oh wait we didn’t see THIS before..” issues, but at least so far I’m OK.
Unfortunately I didn’t get to see any apartments, the building is still being worked on. Hopefully in the next few weeks I get to see a place. Then I can confirm whether I’m going for a studio or a one-bedroom. At least currently I suspect it will be a studio, they indicated that its about 500 sq. ft. — that’s good for a manhattan studio. Floor plans for the 1BR in the Co-Op building indicate 585 sq. ft. — but at an extra 500 a month. I kinda sorta need that money.
If this really happens I may be moving as early as September. This means I’ll be scrounging and scraping EVERY PENNY until then. I will also likely drop out of any sort of travel for the rest of the year. That’s not committed to yet, but its becoming more and more likely.

Oh… and in a totally different bit of amusement that may have made me some friends… I fixed their network printer while I was waiting for my interview. *laugh*
So.. Weekend was long, filled with some work and some fun. Weekend was started with potentially great news, having hit the mid-range income rental lotto. However, due to other circumstances that will not be repeated here, I may either be unable to even attempt to get the apartment, or worse simply have to ignore the offer.
This does not make me happy obviously.
One screaming match tonight, some bruised knuckles, and a pile of nasty laundry on my bed and papers on my desk. I’m gnawing on half eaten steak and trying not to break everything in sight.
On a different note – I am ignoring every @)*(&%)(#*&%*@&% post regarding Dark Knight Returns, and #()*&%@)(*%&)#(@*%& post on Avatar – because I have no mother@$)(*& when I can see the fucking movie, and due to fucktastic scheduling issues with Nick I never saw half of season TWO of Avatar, let alone the rest.
… *takes deep breath* Yes I’m still very very very very very very very very pissy right now. Pretty much unfit for human interaction.

So I’m thinking.. I may decide to just do a fire sale on t-shirts at Otakon — to clear out stock. Final goal would be to have NO MORE SHIRTS LEFT. Con-Staph is mostly gone, but I still have a minor ton of Drama Free and Con-Artist shirts.

I am repeatedly puzzled when I see certain types of behavior. I was headed down a subway train station when I saw a couple embracing on the subway platform. Your typical yuppie couple – woman about a head shorter than the male. Woman was facing away from me and practically clinging to the male. Male was returning the embrace but facing oncoming people walking down the platform. What puzzled me was his actions. He sat there, smirked at me (and I presume some other guys walking down the platform), and winked, as if to say, “awwww yeah, you know it.”
Okay, so I know that as men, our alpha-male behaviors come to the surface sometimes. But really – was that necessary? What. the. fuck.

I’m still running full swamped thanks to Otakon. However, being fed up I’m making an effort to halt the expanding waistline that almost inevitably happens before the con. Miming punches and uppercuts with the selectech weights set to 35lbs might not burn fat but woah does it fuck with my arms…

Spent most of yesterday in pain as my back spasmed through “blinding”, “incoherent”, and “fuck you and the spinal column you rode in on.”
Managed to VIOLENTLY reseat late in the evening, but spent the rest of th night huddled to heal…
Woke up this morning to a hard knot in the spot but most of the pain gone. Still popping and creaking but have mostly realigned.
One of these days I’m going to have my string cut – just watch. .
