Busy Busy : Otakon Staphing and Design

I know, all I’ve been doing is ranting lately about how busy I am getting ready for Otakon and TAF.

Alot of the time has been spent preparing documents for handing out at the festival.  Logistics, preparing for the booth, calling some companies for access, etc etc yadda yadda.  Some thoughts, and a sneak peek of the Otakon 2008 flyer, under the cut.

I haven’t done Otakon publications since 2004, except for the odd minor piece.   That being said, I told Kat I’d take care of pre-con publicity related publications to take the load off of her staff.

Anyway, I’m pretty happy with the flyer.  This is a final draft — there will be some final tweaks before you see the real final flyer appear at cons starting in April.

Working on this has been rough — I haven’t been doing any design lately and my skills are very rusty.  The design is totally a rip off of some design tricks that have been around for a while — but I wanted to match the wonderful art provided to us by Omar Dogan.

No, I wish I could say I did the art.   HA!

Anyhow, back to the point.  This flyer was a bit of a bittersweet experience, as I realized it is probably the last serious piece of design work I’ll do for Otakon.  Ahh well.

Time for sleep.  Tomorrow, I have more booth design work to finish. -_-;;
