Its been an interesting year. 2006 was a particularly dramatic year, 2007 was close behind. It had a mixed bag of ups and downs, many times happening in quick succession. Like many people on the list, I’m glad that we’re about to close the book on this year.
New Year’s resolutions? I don’t really go for those. I’m more of the mindset that you resolve to do something at any time, and just resolve to do it. Its not tied to a specific date. That being said, there are some definite things happening in 2008.
Every year is different. I can’t promise anyone that 2008 will be better, but I can assure you that I’m hoping you have a good one. To my friends, I wish you the best of fortune for 2008, and I’ll try to be there, camera in hand, recording events good or bad — and lending a hand.
As I have in previous years, I am humming a song by Jim’s Big Ego in my head pretty regularly. It lies below the cut.

Atlantic City part 2 - Borgata
Oh my god, all the extraordinary waitresses came here to work.
Place is fucking beautiful, and poker room is off the motherfucking hook! I am so coming here next time.
2 hours, started unlucky but shook off the bad luck of the tournament. Even for the sesson, which I’ll take.
I have five chips profit to take home to play with - I’ll take the hint. .

Ouch.
First live money live game. Did OK, stayed around until after second break, 15th out of 50.
Not to sound superstitious, but my game was broken BADLY by a misdeal caused by player to my right, he knocked out an 8 that would have given me a hidden FULL HOUSE. AUGH.

Walk-In Health Care in New York | Duane Reade Walk-In Medical Care
Holy %)(*#%&)(#*&% — Duane Reade has opened up Urgent Care clinics in Manhattan??! See, this is actually stunning - because until now if you needed to see a doctor during the weekend you were kinda out of luck. It pretty much meant you were stuck going to the emergency room. Worse, if you had no insurance, good luck finding any alternative other than an ER.
This is great - its about @)(*%&#)%*(#&%*#&%)(@*&@* time this option became available. I’ll have to keep an eye on them as an alternative next time I get some kind of dumb ass sickness on a Saturday!

Busy busy, and here at work today. My mind is totally NOT on work..

In other random blips - making over 20lbs of chili takes forever. My chili recipe doesn’t scale up too well, I’m not happy with this latest batch. Boo. Damn, back to work. .

So I shifted things around on my desk and finally finished cleaning up. YAY LCD monitor arm! So, new photo for the desktop meme..
Ergotron LX Desk Mount Arm. After looking at their choices, this is really the only one that is worth the money. The thing really does rock my geek world. XD
