Holy shit I am rolling 1’s all day today when it comes to gaming.
I started out doing beautifully in an online poker tournament, then after the break I got river beat by a STRAIGHT FUCKING FLUSH. Second tournament I get river beat TWICE and am out in the first 10 MINUTES. Attempts later to play Tiger Woods Golf have me starting out well then bombing miserably because of controller glitches, sending me into this further downward spiral of game loathing and hatred (that’s probably common to golfers) until I’ve restarted the game thrice and almost sent the Wii remote like a FLAMING MISSILE at the screen.
… 30 minutes later, my attempts to play a shooter game (gates of thunder for those of you who care) on the virtual console feature me fumbling until I might as well have just SPAT on the screen, because that would have been more effective at blasting the damned ships coming at me.
I’m willing to bet I would fuck up making a Mii at this point! … and I dropped my Wii remote - party foul!
…. I know what this is. This is because of that damned Dragonlance animated movie trailer that I saw. The movie is going straight to DVD, THANK GOD. The trailer? It made my inner fantasy geek child COMMIT SUICIDE. I felt like terrorists had bombed my imagination. (joke copyright the South Park gang, purveyors of stupidity in their own right but dammit I’ve grown to like them.)
…. Oh, and Drawn Together. While I’m ranting - what kind of random BRAIN DAMAGE do I have that I still give that show 20 minutes of my time occasionally? Shouldn’t I have learned better?
..
This rant brought to you by the words “colon blow”, “argh”, and “mommy make it stop.”

Due to some changes in people’s attendance and availability, the times have changed! We currently have 4 players for the afternoon, with a 5th to arrive in the evening.
More people are welcome, but only if I know you well enough to have you invading my home.. ^_^;; Ping me if you want to attend!
(I am working on a game to occur sometime in November that will be open to any and all takers, to take place hopefully in a place like Neutral Ground.)

So I’ve been raiding the coin bins in the house to get them swapped out at Coinstar. Before tossing them in bags I sort through them to dig out any old, interesting or foreign coins. The recent digging hasn’t pulled up much of significance, but I have found some old wheat pennies. Points to you if you realize why these in particular were amusing. :) (The top two. The bottom one is just the oldest of the coins I’ve found..)

Steven Colbert has announced that he is a candidate for president — to be running ONLY in South Carolina.
I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Coinstar : Our Products
Sooooo - I love coinstar machines. They’re a lazy way to convert money into cash. Better yet, if you take money in the form of Amazon gift certificates, you don’t pay a service fee.
Fun thing - right now if you convert 30 bucks into an amazon gift certificate you can get an additional $10 gift certificate as a rebate form. I’m not getting paid to note this, I just love the idea of some extra bucks. Go for it people! XD

3:00PM, I’m sitting at my desk with my laptop logged in, seated at my table with about 1335 other bloggers.
Good luck to all, I’ll update this post with highlights.
*edit* - It was just pointed out to me that there are 1337 players. Too amusing.
*edit 2* - Eliminated at 553. What a horrible beat too. Details after the cut.

What a fun time. *sarcasm*
See, the NYC MTA’s equipment lately seems to have gotten allergic to moisture. As such, rain is the warning that my commute will be ugly. Today did not disappoint. The platform was packed, so I had to skip the first F and take the second F. This wonderful train crawled. My transfer to the A was very quick, which gave me hope that MAYBE I would make my 9:10 train. This of course was hopelessly optimistic, as by the time the train pulled into Penn Station I had 4 minutes to run what normally takes 5 minutes.
… Well, I WOULD have had 4 minutes if the train hadn’t stopped 3/4ths of the way into the station. That robbed me of 2 minutes, and I managed to miss the 9:10 by a minute. Of course, today the NJ transit trains were PERFECTLY on time, when normally they react to rain the way North Carolina reacts to snow, they shut down.
… Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, to add insult to injury the train I finally catch got stuck behind a drawbridge. +20 minutes. 2.5 hours to get to work today.

Anyhow, it has turned into an absolutely beautiful day — blue sky, puffy clouds, a wonderful breeze, and me here. in my cubicle. typing on a computer. with a gimpy leg. …. bang
