Right, so TGS is going on, and I wish I could go. Not because I’m a rabid gamer, but just because I want to see what sort of goofy shit comes up this year. Thanks to Gizmodo, something that made me go “the HELL?” almost immediately. I have to agree with them, you’d better be a good looking witchy sort or you’re going to look just plain dumb on this thing.
.. and even then you’ll probably look dumb. Just dumb and sexy.

Humm..
Alright, I’m thinking about doing Anime USA as a day trip, or a Saturday/Sunday trip. This is mostly because its in the Crystal City this time, which makes it doable via Amtrak/Metro.
Sooooooo - who is going? If I go to AUSA, I’m seriously thinking about hosting a social / poker party / orgy Saturday night.

I pulled into BWI rail station at 6:20am this past Saturday, an ungodly hour to be awake and travelling. The air was damp and misty, with the light of pre-dawn barely showing and the station lamps gleaming through the moisture.
A few other shots from the station, a head’s up hold’em hand guaranteed to make someone lose money and my scribbled reaction to the VP nomination after the cut.

The order of this post is going to be scrambled. So I’m trying to figure out where to go next year — I’m looking to travel a bit about the country…
Currently, I’ve already the first quarter of 2008 down for Las Vegas, possibly LA, possibly Japan (again) and Baltimore (of course). Any suggestions for places to visit?

Sunday Morning after the elections meeting, some of us hit up Bob Evans for breakfast. … Well fine, it wasn’t morning, it was already 1PM, but it was still breakfast for most of us. Mmmmm, foood — the -itis caused by this motherload of good breakfast food should have come with a warning label. “Do not operate heavy machinery or attempt to think for at least 30 minutes after eating.”

So we were playing Poker Saturday night, and on the first flop of the night this is what came up. For the rest of the evening, fives were the key card that determined who would win that particular round.
Interestingly enough, 2008 is Otakon’s 15th year. (5+5+5) Also, I had earlier commented that the first person to draw the Ace of Spades from THAT deck would become 2008’s con chair. When drawing cards to determine who would be dealer that night, the probably con chair did in fact draw the Ace of Spades.
Wang has kept the deck, feeling that it is oddly lucky to Otakon staffers. We shall see if that is the case. (Final bit of trivia — I *DID* buy the deck while in Japan on the Otakon trip..)

Police: Simpson questioned in alleged theft - CNN.com
Okay, see I really couldn’t give two shits about Simpson and this alleged theft. Holy fuck you’d think that Simpson was important, he’s all over CNN.
What I want to mention, along with five million other news bloggers doing the same thing right now, is what I overheard the police spokesperson saying… See, he ended his public statement with a comment that was meant to talk about how the police were committed to being fair etc etc despite this being OJ Simpson…
Instead what he said was, “We are committed to providing a thorough, biased….. investigation. ” Even the newscaster says, “I think he meant to say unbiased..”

From Buffalo to Toronto 2007
So, I’m recovering slowly from my trip to Toronto. Of course, I have a minor fuck-ton of stuff to get done, and I’m still catching up. Story of my life — I split my attention between so many things (including stupid things) that I never quite get any one thing accomplished. Ahh well — you don’t care about that..
