Do you remember these signs?  As a child, these signs along with the regular “stand in the hallways and wait to DIE” drills were constant reminders of the stupidity and madness that we all seemed to live under.   Of course, the older we got the more we realized how futile those “measures” really were.

There’s one of these still in my apartment building hallway - a relic of the cold war that has been painted over and forgotten.  I think when I have a place of my own I will post one of these as a decoration — as a reminder to myself of childhood and how quickly things can disappear..  Or be forgotten.
